Bandelier National Monument
Explore the Bandelier National Monument
See one of the most iconic landmarks in New Mexico. The Bandelier National Monument, a U.S. National Monument, encompasses over 33,000 acres of land preserving the Ancestral Pueblo People.
Bring your camera to capture images of the excavated archeological sites and dwellings along one of several miles of trails in the park.
In Frijoles Canyon, visitors view the dwellings, kivas, petroglyphs and rock paintings, dating back to the 1150 to 1600 periods.
Ranger-led guided walks are also available. Schedule time to stroll through the visitor center to view the life-size dioramas of Pueblo life, pottery, artifacts, and tools. After relaxing, enjoy a nice walk to the downtown shops, restaurants and museums for a fun night out in the Santa Fe area.
