See the Chaco Culture National Historical Park
See one of the most impressive landmarks found in New Mexico. The Chaco Culture National Historical Park located near Nageezi in northwest New Mexico, was the home of the Chacoan people in the middle to late 800s. The homes lasted more than 300 years.
They built multiple story, stone homes including the Pueblo Bonito, Peñasco Blanco, Una Vida, Chetro Ketl, Hungo Pavi and Pueblo Alto. A short nine mile drive provides access to the guided trails of six of these amazing sites.
Consider hiking the 1/4 mile Petroglyph Trail to see the incredible petroglyphs. Ranger-led tours and astronomy programs are also available. Stay close to the park in Bloomfield, 40 miles northwest the park. Enjoy your time in New Mexico and discover its wonderful treasures.
