In 1706, Governor Francisco Cuervo y Valdez established the community with the development of the central plaza. This lead to the construction of the first building, the San Felipe de Neri Church, in 1793.
Throughout the years, the houses and businesses that developed in Old Town, were renovated to become boutiques, art galleries and restaurants.
While there, be sure to visit the Albuquerque Museum of Art & History, the Albuquerque Bio Park Botanic Garden, the Agape Southwest Pueblo Pottery store and Painted Sky Gallery and Gifts. Stay close to this historical area of Albuquerque, known as the Crossroads of the Southwest.
