Las Cruces – What It’s Like to Visit
Fairs and Foods of Southern New Mexico
Party down in Las Cruces – home to New Mexico State University, and a number of southwestern festivals ready to feed and entertain. Check out that Organ Mountains skyline, or visit fascinating cultural centers like the Historical Museum of Lawmen and the White Sands Missile Range Museum. Just be sure to save room for some unforgettable flavors of New Mexico.
Head to Las Cruces in late September for the Whole Enchilada Fiesta – a gathering of food, music, entertainment and over 50,000 attendees. When we say entertainment, we mean the annual enchilada-off, where Las Cruces residents try to break their own record for creating the world’s largest enchilada. Don’t miss out on a piece of this action, and a piece of enchilada as well.
Early October brings the Southern New Mexico State Fair & Rodeo – the ideal opportunity for southwestern rodeos, food and music. Check out one of the largest Junior Livestock Shows, or fill up on some authentic Native American and Hispanic foods served fresh at the fair. All of this is minutes from the action at Dona Ana County Fairgrounds.
